What does your Membership mean?

Our mission is to reach out and help our community by finding 100 or more women to each contribute $50 four times a year in order to give up to $20,000 annually to local charities. All non-profit organizations up for consideration must have a strong presence in and serve residents of Franklin County, Vermont. The idea is to keep it local and have an impact that WE can SEE in our communities here in Vermont!

It’s a fast, simple, and effective way to make a difference in our community!

We meet for one hour, four times a year. At each meeting, each member writes a check for $50 to donate to a local charity.
  • Only members who have signed a Membership Form (see below) and are current on their contributions may submit a non-profit organization for consideration.
  • The Chapter meets for one hour, four times a year and any member in good standing can nominate a local charity in advance of each meeting.
  • At the quarterly meeting, the names of the nominated organizations are presented in individually sealed envelopes, and three are drawn at random.
  • The person who nominated the selected charity has up to five (5) minutes to talk about the charity, about what kind of impact it makes and the intended use of 100 Women Who Care-Franklin County’s donation followed by five (5) minutes for questions and answers.
  • Then the members in attendance vote by ballot on which cause to support.  The charity with the most votes receives the donations.
  • Each member writes a check for $50 to the selected organization. When all checks are in, they are presented to the director of the chosen organization.  Receiving agency must agree not to solicit members or share names or other information about 100 Women Who Care members.
  • This is not an annual commitment.  You will be a member until you submit your resignation in writing  on our Contact Us page.
It’s a fast, simple, and effective way to make a difference in our community!
